New Species? Photograph by Robert Clark
A 21st-century creature named Troody, loosely based on the 70-million-year-old Troodon, takes a walk on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus, where she was born. Engineer Peter Dilworth, her companion and creator, plans to market a whole menagerie complete with artificial skinto museums, theme parks, or anyone who has around $100,000 to spare. "We know of thousands of different kinds of extinct animals," he says. "I'd love to make as many of them as people want." |
