Boom, crash, clang! You could hear the cannon fire if you were in Valley Forge during the winter of 1778. Today it is a national park and a historic site located in my neighborhood. When we visit, we think of all the brave souls who died there fighting for our freedom. Part of this beautiful green valley is located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, my hometown. It’s even a great place for outdoor activities such as sledding, biking, horseback riding, and sightseeing.
Just a few miles from my house is a gigantic shopping mall called The Plaza & The Court. It’s one of the largest malls in the world. Shoppers from all over the East Coast come to shop at our thousands of stores, looking for thousands of items, with thousands of other shoppers. Sometimes my family and I enjoy eating at the delicious food court because we can each choose from the restaurant that we like best. I especially like the fact that a huge IMAX Theatre was just built right next to the mall.
Since we are only 18 miles from Philadelphia, we can have all the pleasures of the city without all the trouble that a big city can have. We can visit museums, see huge buildings, go to the first zoo in the United States, just to name a few interesting things to do. We can watch teams like the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and the Sixers play their exciting matches. I have gone with my family to see the circus at one of the big exhibition centers downtown.
When I think of my town, King of Prussia, I think about a town with entertainment, excitement, enjoymenta place that I can call home.
