Nature's Spirals
A spiral is a curved shape that winds around a point. Spirals occur all the time in nature. The seeds of a sunflower and the curl of a ram's horn form a spiral. When hurricanes rage over the ocean, they also form a spiral. Look around, and you'll see spirals everywhere. Share one with a friend!

This is a bighorn sheep. The ram's strong, brown horns curl around the side of its head. These spiraled horns are a powerful weapon when the ram has to butt heads with another ram.
