Winning Essay
An Open Door
By Kevin C. | Grade 5 | Gold-Star Winner

If I were to make a new symbol representing the United States, it would be an open door. The door would be red, white, and blue. The door would be the passage to the United States.

This door means the U.S. is a free country, and you can enter and leave at your own will. It also means the United States accepts people of all races, religions, and nationalities. Even through hard times, the United States will leave its door open.
